Richard Leah before his huge weight loss
A SELF-confessed couch potato from Rowley Regis has peeled off more than 100lbs - almost half his body weight.
After shedding 7st 5.5lbs, the new-look super fit Richard Leah is now running, cycling and training for his first half marathon.
The 33-year-old NHS FoodNet administrator with the Birmingham Community Nutrition service, admits his own diet was poor and he was ?fairly inactive.?
But he turned his life around when he joined Anne Wythes Weight Watchers class at Halesowen ?s Cornbow Hall ?in March 2010,?after tipping the scales at 17st 10lbs.
?She has been very supportive and she has helped me to get to my goal weight,? said Mr Leah, who, at just 10st 4.5lbs, has been a Gold Member since February, proving he can keep his weight down and is now a helper at the Saturday morning class.
He said his dramatic weight loss has boosted his confidence, adding: ?I used to have a really poor diet and could be considered to be fairly inactive - a couch potato.
?Now that I have lost all this weight, I am running six miles every other day, cycling up to 20 miles on a weekend and I eat a balanced diet.?
Mr Reah, of Gorsty Hill Road, is looking forward to taking part in next month?s BUPA Great Birmingham Run.
